The Orbasone uses a water-filled sphere to reflect
and transmit high energy waves to the patient.
One half of the sphere is machined from stainless
steel, while the other half is formed by a latex
membrane.
This is where all the energy delivered by the high
voltage generator assembly is converted into an
energy wave. In this reflector, the electrode will
create a spark which will be transformed and
forwarded to the focal point.
Silicone oil is applied to the latex membrane and
the patient to enhance the coupling interface. The
membrane adjusts to the patient's form when
pressure is applied to the membrane.
